What You Gonna Do? is the second question of the album and was a song that I brought to a Willows session. For those Schiernecker historians amongst you, Willows were a short-lived band I was in after Negative Panda Society and before I started releasing stuff entirely composed by myself. I think that places it at the 2015 mark. I met Dean and Rob where they were in another band and we all played Chinnerys together. They were superior musicians to me. Aside from the time I auditioned to be in Carl Barat's band, they were the tightest musicians I have ever had the pleasure to jam around with, Willows never played any gigs but both the guys were amazingly supportive of the ideas that I brought in and it was a lot of fun.
The lyrics have changed a lot since then. If anything, they were problematic before and I did what I could to address that while keeping the bass riff there (because my god, I'm proud of it).
I feel like AM was a big influence here, Do I Wanna Know? for sure.
There's also a click and clap to it that I borrowed from Time Is Running Out by Muse.
