Running Up The Downstairs has always sounded like an album closer to me. It just has a vibe about it.
Lyrically, the verses are nonsense but the chorus is about a time that my friend Sam and I went to see The Shins play (maybe in Camden) and he got really drunk and tried to run up the down escalators on our way out of the gig and back into the underground. There was something about running up the downstairs that I liked the sound of, and it's here for you now.
