I'm A Dog was written around 2011 and is told from the perspective of Rusty, my family's welsh Border Collie. He's a simple dog with simple needs.
The original version of this that I recorded was over four minutes and had guitar solos between every verse. Nobody needs that. I cut them all except the outro and lapped the vocals to snap it down to something slightly less indulgent. There's an argument to be made that writing up essays on every song you're putting out on an album that you've decided the world needs is self indulgent enough.
